Gene Editing Made Simple: What CRISPR Can Really Do

CRISPR-Cas9 is a modern tool for editing DNA. It works like tiny biological scissors. Scientists can cut or replace DNA at specific locations, and that can correct genes that cause diseases. CRISPR can also be used in agriculture to grow stronger, healthier crops that are better able to withstand harsh weather. Scientists are also exploring how CRISPR might help fight viruses. However, it is still not a perfect tool, and it can sometimes make mistakes. Therefore, we must be careful, especially when editing human embryos. Scientists must use CRISPR responsibly, while keeping ethical considerations in mind.
