Super Senses: Animals That Detect Earth’s Magnetic Field

Some animals can sense Earth’s magnetic field. For example, birds fly thousands of kilometers during migration, sea turtles cross oceans and can return to the same beaches where they were born. Scientists still do not fully understand how these mechanisms work, but they believe certain animals have natural magnetic sensors inside their bodies. For humans, this ability seems almost unbelievable, yet in nature it is perfectly normal. It shows how closely animals are connected to the environment and how many mysteries of the natural world remain unsolved.
