We participated in the Japanese University Fair at UIA International School of Tokyo on October 9. We introduced our program to approximately 90 students from Grades 10 to 12, along with a few parents and teachers at UIA. Below are the comments from Dr. Hidemori Yazaki of the Department of Biological Sciences.

The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, allowing us to enjoy lively discussions with students from a wide range of backgrounds. It was a very enjoyable experience for us as faculty members as well. Quite a few students showed an interest in biology, and we had the opportunity to introduce some of the strengths of the Department of Biological Sciences at Tokyo Metropolitan University. These include a wide variety of laboratories covering diverse research fields, a rich selection of experimental and practical courses, and the opportunity for students to begin conducting their own research from their first year if they wish. I believe these aspects were well received by the students.
