TMU ranks 9th among Japanese Universities 2016-2017.

In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017 Tokyo Metropolitan University ranks 239th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017. The ranking among Japanese Universities is 9th, behind University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Osaka University, Tohoku University and Nagoya University. The Times Ranking, which is based on indicators in teaching, research, citations, industry income, and International outlook,demonstrates that our university is highly-valued internationally.
