Summer intensive course by Dr. Nilay Patel (California State University Fullerton, USA) was held from July 24 to 28. Twenty students in undergraduate and graduate course attended. In his interactive classes, they were shy at first, but eventually they learned to exchange their ideas verbally and enjoyed his teaching style. This class, unlike many lecture courses in Japan, needed active participation, which was a big challenge for students. However, I believe they learned skills to analyze scientific data, create their strategies and present their ideas.
