Biology and Art - January 2024

This month’s contribution comes from Satoka Li, a first-year undergraduate student interested in studying languages, ikebana and reading manga.

24 January – International Day of Education

Some people think education is expensive, especially if we want to study abroad; however, at TMU, there are resources that help us with travel expenses, accommodation, and textbooks. We can also get counseling in Japanese and English about the Japanese lifestyle, study abroad, homestay, and affordable dormitory accommodation on campus. Many international students from Europe, North America, and Asia have decided to study biology here. Why don’t you come and join us?

HAIKU
The rules are simple: 5-7-5, there is no seasonal reference word (a kigo), but your poem must relate to either biology or the topic of the month, and you are writing in English.
ルールは簡単。五・七・五、季語はなくてもよいけれど、生物学かその月の話題に関連した句であること、そして英語で詠むことです。
