Biology and Art - MAY 2024

This month’s contribution comes from Yuzu Mori, a second-year undergraduate student interested in “the way of the bow,” a Japanese martial art similar to archery.

21 May UNESCO – International Tea Day

Do you enjoy tea?
Tea is the most popular beverage in Japan, and various kinds of tea are available. Green tea is the most common type to drink casually and during the tea ceremony. However, I prefer black tea, especially Earl Grey or Bergamot tea. It is made by combining black tea and bergamot orange extract, which has antibacterial and stress-relieving qualities. I am sure it also helps me to pass my biology tests. So, what kind of tea do you drink?

[HAIKU]
The rules are simple: 5-7-5, there is no seasonal reference word (a kigo), but your poem must relate to either biology or the topic of the month, and you are writing in English.
Therefore, Yuzu’s haiku for this month is:

Fish with no stomach
swim vividly in the sky;
swaying in the breeze.
